The world's a stage
We're all just actors in a play
Nothing we say or do
Will ever change a thing
Who even cares anyway
It's all just vanity they say
So would you like to play
A king?
I'd rather play a fool
I'd play a clown
I'd play a madman who
Believes that he can fly
(Even though he's falling down)
I'd rather play a clown
Than play a king
Only a madman wears a crown
That don't mean anything
(So would you like to play with me?)
A crown's too heavy for my head
I'd rather wear a jester's hat
A palace is a cage too small
To be a prison for my soul
The crowd cheers and bows before the father of the kingdom.
"Long live the king" they shout and the fool shouts louder than most.
Bow before the king he does with all of them.
But one look in his eyes and you know - it is not a gesture of respect
But one of mockery.
